Bowlers perfect again at Kat Klash

HOUSTON – The Bearkats will enter the bracket play at the TRACK Kat Klash in third place and will have a chance at a title in their home tournament on Sunday.

The Kats once again posted a 5-0 record and sit in third behind North Carolina A&T and Nebraska.

"Any event you can position yourself to win is one step closer toward the goal. Today was seriously a full team effort to another 5-0 day," said head coach Brad Hagen. "All eight ladies were utilized when their number was called and it showed how deep this team can be."

The Bearkats topped 1,000 pins four times on the day, racking up wins over NCA&T, UMES, Jackson State, Maryville and Southern.

Denise Blankenzee led all bowlers on Saturday with a 241 average including a high game of 257. Bea Hernandez notched a top five mark as well, with a 214 average to rank fifth.

The Bearkats will face Louisiana Tech Sunday morning. They will need to win three matches to take the title.
