MBB/WBB games at HBU Saturday postponed
The Sam Houston men's and women's basketball doubleheader at Houston Baptist Saturday has been postponed due to the effects of inclement weather across the state this week.

The Bearkat men will now play the Huskies in Houston on March 1 with a start time yet to be determined. The Bearkat women's game has been indefinitely postponed and will only be made up if a date for both teams becomes available.

This is the second time this week men's and women's basketball games had to be rescheduled. The men were supposed to play at Lamar on Feb. 17 and the women were to host the Cardinals the same evening at Johnson Coliseum.

The Sam Houston men will now travel to Beaumont on Monday for a 7 p.m. game at the Montagne Center. The women's home game will be moved to Monday 6 p.m.

Both games are slated to be aired on ESPN+.

Tickets for Monday's women's game are available but must be purchased in advance either online or by calling the Bearkat Ticket Office at 936-294-1729.

Fans attending should be aware of all SHSU, Southland Conference and NCAA COVID-19 policies upon arrival and throughout the duration of the game and while on campus.

Baseball cancels Oklahoma State series
The Bearkat baseball team canceled its 3-game series with No. 20 Oklahoma State due to the inclement weather. The series will not be made up.

The Kats were slated to host the Cowboys for 3 games beginning Friday, February 19. Sam Houston will now open up the 2021 season on Wednesday, February 24, at Globe Life Field in Arlington against Texas State.

Softball cancels Bearkat Classic
Due to the inclement weather throughout Texas, Sam Houston's season-opening softball tournament with No. 2 Oklahoma, ULM and UTSA this weekend has been canceled and will not be made up.

The Bearkats will now open up the 2021 season on Wednesday at home with a doubleheader against Houston. First pitch is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.

Weekend road soccer matches rescheduled
The Sam Houston soccer team's road trip to Louisiana this weekend has been postponed due to inclement weather.

The Bearkats were set to play Southeastern Louisiana in Hammond Friday evening at 7 and Nicholls in Thibodaux Sunday at 1 p.m. The match at Southeastern Louisiana will now take place on March 5 at 7 p.m. and the game at Nicholls will be March 7 at 1 p.m.

Sam Houston's next match will be against UIW at Pritchett Field on Feb. 26 at 6:30 p.m.

Volleyball changes Thursday match
The volleyball team's match against Southeastern Louisiana, originally scheduled for Thursday has now been moved to Monday, Feb. 22.

The team has also been forced to postpone its match at Lamar scheduled for Saturday. The schools are currently exploring possible make-up dates.

Tennis postpones weekend matches
The Bearkats were scheduled to host UTRGV on Friday and UTSA on Sunday.

Sam Houston is now scheduled to begin Southland Conference play on Feb. 26 at 1 p.m. against New Orleans at the McAdams Tennis Center.
