SAN ANTONIO — The Sam Houston tennis team moved to 2-0 in Southland Conference play with a 7-0 victory over Incarnate Word Friday afternoon at the Mabry Tennis Center.
Sophomore
Isidora Zivkovic clinched the match for the Bearkats (6-2) with a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Alejandra Landaluce at No. 2 singles to improve to 6-2 on the season.
Junior
Sahaja Yamalapalli remained unbeaten on the season at 7-0 with a win at No. 1 singles. She defeated Brandelyn Fulgenzi 6-3, 6-2.

Karla De La Luz Montalvo (5-3) knocked off Lauren Fulgenzi (6-1, 6-1) in the No. 3 spot, and senior
Constandena Nicolaou (6-0) topped Sophia Kermet 1-6, 6-1, 10-3 at No. 4. Freshman
Sahithi Vutukuru (4-0) defeated Taylor Parkinson 6-4, 6-1 at No. 5, while freshman
Andrijana Brkic took No. 6 singles by forfeit.
Yamalapalli and junior
Roos Gerritsen defeated Brandelyn Fulgenzi and Lauren Fulgenzi 7-6 (8-6) at No. 1 doubles. Nicolaou and Brkic toppled Parkinson and Kermet 6-2 at No.2 to secure the doubles point, and Montalvo and junior
Petra Kaszas took No. 3 doubles by forfeit.
Sam Houston will face Abilene Christian on the road Sunday at 11 a.m.
