HUNTSVILLE — Sam Houston scored all of its runs in the final two innings to complete a Southland Conference series sweep of Incarnate Word with a 9-1 victory in six innings Saturday at the Bearkat Softball Complex.
Senior Katye Martinez hit an RBI single to walk-off the run-rule win and send the Bearkats (18-29, 14-13 SLC) into the conference tournament with a three-game win streak. Sam Houston will face Houston Baptist in the opening round Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Hammond, Louisiana.
