Krieger/Fielder Becoming Bearkat Dynamic Duo
Sam Houston has had its fair share of elite outside hitters in recent years, and often they have come in pairs. A new pair looks to be developing in 2022 with hitters
Catherine Krieger and
Alyssa Fielder, who have combined for 253 kills over the Kats' last 10 matches. Fielder has been in double figures in nine of those 10 matches, while Krieger has done so in eight during that same span. Since September 10, Fielder has averaged 2.72 kills per set; however, Krieger has been even better, averaging 3.07 and hitting .233 in nine matches since September 15.
Krieger Approaching 1,000 Kills
With that surge over the last month, Krieger has pushed herself into the conversation of reaching a career milestone in the upcoming weeks. The Richmond native now has 923 career kills and needs 77 more to reach, 1,000 for her career.
Baker Ranked In WAC Top 10 In Digs
Libero
Hannah Baker continues to rack up big numbers on the back row for the Kats in 2022 and enters Thursday ranked third in the WAC with 4.82 digs per set and second with 371 total digs.
Gray Continues To Add To Career Win Total
It was another milestone for 39th-year head coach
Brenda Gray on when she picked up her 750th career victory in the Kats sweep of past Prairie View in the 2022 home opener at Johnson Coliseum. Gray is the fourth-longest tenured current coach in Division I, and is 10th in the nation among active coaches with her 754 career victories.
