HUNTSVILLE — Fresh off back-to-back Western Athletic Conference wins, the Sam Houston soccer team will travel to Utah this weekend for a pair of league road games.

The Bearkats (3-6-2 overall, 2-3-1 WAC) will face Utah Tech (7-2-1, 3-0-1) on Friday at 8:30 p.m. Sam Houston plays Southern Utah (8-1-1, 3-0-1) on Sunday at 3 p.m.

The Kats notched their first conference win of the season last week when they defeated Abilene Christian 2-0 at Pritchett Field. Kinsey Hill scored what proved to be the game winner in the fifth minute, and Kailey Pena scored her team-leading third goal of the season in the 73rd minute.

Sam Houston followed that up with a 2-1 victory over Tarleton. Landri Townsend scored both goals for the Kats including the game winner on a penalty kick in the 85th minute.
