Wrzeszcz earns WAC freshman honor

HUNTSVILLE — Anthony Wrzezcz had a breakout performance against Arlington Baptist which earned him the Western Athletic Conference men's basketball Player of the Week award on Tuesday, the league office announced.
Wrzezcz scored a career-high 11 points off the bench in the 107-26 victory over the Trailblazers on Dec. 20. The Bearkats set a new school record with 19 3-pointers, and Wrzezcz contributed by going 3 for 4 from behind the arc.
The Gydnia, Poland native played 22 minutes which is also a career high and dished out two assists to earn the first weekly WAC honor for Sam Houston this season.
