HUNTSVILLE — The Sam Houston men's basketball team has added a transfer from Kansas State for the 2022-23 season, head coach Jason Hooten announced Tuesday.
Â
Kaosi Ezeagu, a 6-10 forward from Bramption, Ontario, has signed with the Bearkats. The 255-pound redshirt junior spent the past two seasons playing for the Wildcats after transferring from UTEP following his freshman year.
Â
"We are really excited about Kaosi joining our family," Hooten said. "He gives us a true inside presence on both ends of the floor, and at that size and strength, we really haven't had that since Michael Holyfield. Kaosi has a tremendous work ethic and desire to be good. His toughness, passion for the game, high IQ, and team-first attitude were all attributes that attracted us to Kaosi."
Â
This past season, Ezeagu saw action in 25 games and made 12 starts. He averaged 4.2 points with a team-high shooting percentage of 68.5 percent while averaging 14.5 minutes per game.
Â
Ezeagu scored a career high 15 points against North Dakota and pulled down five or more rebounds in six games, including a career-high of nine against Nebraska.
