FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Clayton Fritsch will once again have a chance to win a national championship in the men's pole vault after he qualified for the 2022 NCAA Outdoor Championships at the West Preliminary Round over the weekend.
Fritsch, who currently owns the top mark in the nation this season at 5.80 meters, tied with Kansas' Zach Bradford at 5.39 meters for the best height at the West Preliminary held at John McDonnell Field. The senior from Sealy cleared the mark on his first attempt and did not have to jump again.
The women's 4x100-meter relay team just missed qualifying for the outdoor championships but did set a new school record.

Anivea Gilbert,
Rajer Gurode and
Keshana Page turned in a time of 44.78 seconds which was good enough for 13
th place just one spot behind the final championship qualifier.
Daviciea McCartney tied his personal best in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.04.
