DENVER – The Western Athletic Conference announced this week the honorees for the spring 2022 Academic All-WAC teams as well as the freshman and transfer honorees for fall and winter sports. A total of 56 Bearkats were named to the teams for spring sports while 5 freshman and transfers were honored from fall and winter sports.
To be eligible for this honor, a student-athlete must have completed at least one academic year at their institution, have at least a 3.2 cumulative grade-point average and have participated in at least 50 percent of their team's contests.
Softball and both men's and women's track and field led the way for the spring sports with 11 selections apiece. Baseball and women's tennis followed with 7 selections, men's and women's golf had four each.
For the fall and winter additions, women's basketball and volleyball had two apiece and football and soccer one each.
