Cross country takes 3rd at Rice

HOUSTON — The Sam Houston men's cross country team placed third overall at the Rice Invitational on Friday.

Paced by Gudisa Adnow who finished fourth with a time of 20:06.30, the Bearkats finished behind Rice and Houston. Elijah McWillliams just missed a top 10 finish by placing 11^th with a time of 20:38.40.

Bryan Mileski came in 16^th with a mark of 20:49.90 just ahead of teammate Yovany Portillo who was 17^th at 20:50.20. Christian Rivera placed 28^th with a time of 21:36.50 and Eli Ortiz was 32^nd with a time of 21:40.90.

Kyan Wallace placed 34^th at 21:48.00, while Blake Raines was 71^st with a time of23:46.40.

Sasha Elizondo was the top finisher on the women's side, coming in at 26^th at 15:44.20. Ellie Galan crossed the finish line in 31^st with a mark of 16:12.60

Kristen Wilson placed 33^rd in a time of 16:31.00 and Lauren Johansson finished 38^th with a time of 16:52.60.

The women did not have enough finishers to factor into the team results.
