HUNTSVILLE — The Sam Houston soccer team will begin Western Athletic Conference play on Friday when Seattle U comes to Pritchett Field for a 6:30 p.m. match.
 
The Bearkats (1-3-1 overall) will also host Utah Valley on Sunday at 1 p.m.
 
This is the first meeting between Sam Houston and the Seahawks, but the Bearkats have played the Wolverines twice. Utah Valley topped SHSU 6-1 in the first round of the WAC Tournament in Abilene last season, and the Kats took the first meeting 3-2 in Huntsville in 2009.
 
Sam Houston is coming off its first win of the season. Pam Murray and Alesandra Maldonado accounted for both goals in a 2-0 victory over Louisiana Tech on Sept. 6, and goalkeeper Tatum Krueger had six saves for her first shutout of the season.
