BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - McKenzie Morvant led Sam Houston with 11 kills, but league-leading WKU finished off a weekend sweep of the Kats with a 3-0 win on Saturday at EA Diddle Arena.
The Hilltoppers swept both matches of the weekend, also picking up a 3-0 win on Friday, to move to 20-4 overall and 10-0 in league play.
The Kats fell to 7-19 overall and 1-11 in Conference USA.
Alyssa Fielder added eight kills and
Hannah Baker had 17 digs, but the Tops hit .283 for the match and were led by 11 kills from Paige Briggs.
The Tops hit .464 in Friday's match with Briggs also leading the way with 14 scores.
Payton Woods had eight kills to lead the team in the opener, while
Jaylibeth Garcia-Rosa added six.
Sam Houston will return home to host LIberty for a pair of matches, the final home matches of 2023, beginning Friday at 6:30 p.m. at Johnson Coliseum.
