HUNTSVILLE — Fresh off a win in head coach
Chris Mudge's debut, Sam Houston is set to host Utah Valley in the home opener Thursday at Johnson Coliseum as part of the WAC/CUSA Challenge.
The Bearkats (1-0) used an 11-0 run to open the second half to knock off Pacific 64-57 the Alex G. Spanos Center in Stockton, California on Monday evening in the season opener.
Lamar Wilkerson led four Sam Houston players in double digits in scoring with 15 points,
Davon Barnes finished with 13 while
Jaden Ray and

The Kats and Wolverines are no strangers to one another having spent the previous two seasons as members of the WAC before Sam Houston joined CUSA in July. The two teams have played four times with Utah Valley being undefeated against the Bearkats.
The Wolverines, who defeated Carroll College 81-73 Monday, won the regular season WAC championship last season and Sam Houston placed second.
