Soccer adds forward from Shertz

HUNTSVILLE — Sam Houston soccer coach Sonia Curvelo is pleased to announce the addition of a high school forward to the 2023 signing class.

Niasia Goodwin from Shertz will be joining the Bearkats for the upcoming season. She earned all-district honors in 2021 at Steele High School and plays club for the San Antonio City Soccer Club 05/04 GA.

"We look forward to the addition of Niasia," Curvelo said. "She will add more strength in our forward positions. She is a powerful forward that can beat players, create and score goals. She competes and wants to win championships with Sam Houston.

"Academically, she is a strong student which is also important to our team culture we are building with our program. I look forward to coaching her on the field this fall."
