WAC announces 2023 Winter Academic All-WAC honorees

ARLINGTON — The Western Athletic Conference announced the 2023 Academic All-WAC honorees for winter sports, with a total of 448 student-athletes across six sports recognized.
Sam Houston had 16 student-athletes make the list. To be eligible for the honor, a student-athlete must have completed at least one academic year, have at least a 3.2 cumulative grade-point average and have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's contests.

Utah Valley led the way with 58 honorees. Grand Canyon was second with 49 honorees and Southern Utah was third with 42.

Of the six winter sports, women's indoor track and field had the most student-athletes honored with 125. Women's swimming and diving was second with 109, and men's indoor track and field was third with 102.
