Bowlers earn All-SBL honors

HUNTSVILLE — After once again qualifying for the NCAA Tournament, the Sam Houston bowling team was well represented on the All-Southland Bowling League teams.

Elise Chambers and Denise Blankenzee were selected to the second team. Bea Hernandez was tabbed to the third team.

The Bearkats were selected to the Arlington Regional as an at-large bid this season, marking the 11th time in 13 years Sam Houston had qualified for the NCAA Championships. The Kats made it to the regional finals where they lost to the No. 1 overall seed McKendree.

Chambers was also honored by the National Ten Pin Coaches Association this season. She was named to the All-Central Region second team as a second-team All-America selection.
