Wasik earns All-WAC selection

ARLINGTON — Sam Houston sophomore Brailey Wasik has been voted as one of the best players in the Western Athletic Conference this season, the league announced on Monday.

Wasik has been tabbed to the All-WAC second team, as voted by conference coaches.

The Burleson native was batting .311 through 38 games before an injury sidelined her midway through the season. She is tied for the team lead with seven home runs and is third with 24 RBIs.

In March, Wasik was named the WAC Hitter of the Week after she hit .545 with five RBIs, six runs, three doubles and three home runs to help the Bearkats go 3-1 with a series sweep against Utah Valley.

In the circle, she tossed 25.2 innings this season and recorded 15 strikeouts in 14 appearances for the Bearkats.
