Four bowlers earn NTCA academic honors

HUNTSVILLE — Four Bearkat bowlers have been named to the National Tenpin Coaches Association All-Academic team.

Junior Denise Blankenzee, senior Alexia Cassman, graduate student Elise Chambers and graduate student Bea Hernandez were all recognized for their accomplishments inside the classroom.

The NTC recognizes student-athletes who have excelled in the classroom throughout the academic year. This year there are 285 honorees, representing NCAA bowling programs at 57 schools.

A student athlete must have a cumulative GPA of 3.4 or higher for the academic school year to qualify for this award.
