WAC announces 2022 Spring Academic All-WAC recipients

ARLINGTON — The Western Athletic Conference (WAC) announced the 2023 Academic All-WAC honorees for spring sports, along with freshmen and transfer student-athletes from all 2022-23 conference sports, on Tuesday. A total of 1,257 student-athletes across all 20 sports were recognized.
Sam Houston had 57 student-athletes recognized on the list. To be eligible for Academic All-WAC recognition, a student-athlete must have completed at least one academic year, have at least a 3.2 cumulative grade-point average and have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's contests.
Grand Canyon led the way with 145 honorees. Utah Valley was second with 127 honorees and California Baptist was third with 102.
Of the eight spring sports, women's outdoor track & field had the most student-athletes honored with 204. Baseball was second with 168, and softball was third with 159.
