
Bowling signee playing in Asian Youth Championships

Sam Houston bowling signee Ramita Sarntong is competing at the 21st Asian Youth Tenpin Bowling Championships this week at Blu-O Rhythm and Bowl in Ratchayothin, Bangkok, Thailand.

She is the second Bearkat to play in this event, joining former standout Bea Hernandez who competed in 2019 for the Philippines.

Sarntong of Samutprakarn, Thailand had a successful 2022 summer season. She finished first in the Women's Open division and third in the Youth Under18. Additionally, she saw success at the 21st MWA Asian Junior Tenpin Bowling Championships where she won gold in all events over 18 games averaging 215.78 and winning bronze in single averaging 214.83.

Additional accomplishments include first place (U18), first place (U21) and first place (Women's Open) at the 2022 Thailand Tenpin Bowling Championships as well as winning first place (Women's Grade A singles event) at the 45th Hong Kong International.
