HUNTSVILLE — Sam Houston stopped a three-match losing streak with a 2-2 tie against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Sunday at Pritchett Field.
The Bearkats (1-3-1) jumped out to a 1-0 lead when
Tiana Johnson scored off an assist by
Dana Hanson just under three minutes into the match. It was Johnson's second goal of the season after she scored in a 2-1 loss to Houston Christian on Thursday.
The Islanders tied the match less than two minutes later on a goal by Rachel Loetzer. Neither team was able to get anything past the goalkeepers the rest of the half.
Sam Houston retook the lead in the second half. This time
Landri Townsend scored her first goal of the season off another assist by
Dana Hanson in the 55th minute.
A&M-Corpus Christi scored the equalizer with just over six minutes left in the match.
