ARLINGTON — The Sam Houston bowling team closed out the Prairie View Invitational on a strong note at the IRTC on Sunday.
The Bearkats placed sixth in the loaded field with 13,006 total pins during the three-day event. Vanderbilt went on to win the tournament followed by Arkansas State, Youngstown State, Nebraska and Louisiana Tech.
"It was a better day overall with a win over No. 9 SFA followed by a win against No. 2 Vanderbilt before falling to No. 4," head coach Brad Hagen said. "We have to figure out how to put a weekend together. The field has kept our mission alive, but we need to do our part, period and be better collectively."
The Bearkats have some time off before competiting in the Lewis Flyer Classic in Lockport. Illinois on Feb. 9-11 at Strike N' Spare II.
