HUNTSVILLE — The Sam Houston volleyball team will head to El Paso to face UTEP at Memorial Gym on Friday. Â
Sam Houston is looking to improve its record after opening Conference USA play with a sweep against Middle Tennessee this past weekend.  Â
Michaela Panekova, a sophomore from Slovakia, was named Conference USA Player of the Week following the victories over the Blue Raiders. She recorded 27 kills and four aces over seven sets.Â
The Bearkats are 7-4 all time against the Miners. Sam Houston will try to return the favor of a sweep after UTEP handed the Kats two losses last season.Â
