Pair of Kats earn CUSA academic honors

DALLAS — Sam Houston had two women's soccer players honored for their work in the classroom, the Conference USA office announced on Friday.

Seniors Landri Townsend and Dana Hanson were named to CUSA All-Academic Team. This is Hanson's second academic recognition and the first for Townsend.

Townsend, a forward from Little Elm, is pursuing her master's degree in public health and currently carries a 4.00 grade point average. She leads the Bearkats with six goals this season and is fourth all-time in career goals scored with 19.

Hanson also boasts a 4.00 grade point average as a marketing major. A four-year starter, the midfielder from New Braunfels has one assist this season.
