LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Sam Houston volleyball team fell 3-1 to Liberty on Saturday at Liberty Arena.
The Bearkats (13-12, 8-6 CUSA) dropped the match to the Flames by scores of 13-25, 26-24, 20-25, and 24-26.
Liberty opened with a strong 25-13 win in the first set. Sam Houston responded with an early run in the second set to claim a 26-24 victory.
The Flames regained the lead with a 25-20 win in the third. In the fourth set, the Bearkats pushed to a 24-24 tie after Lillian Hamilton's ninth block of the match but ultimately fell 26-24 to the Flames.
Hamilton led the Bearkats with 14 kills and a season-high nine blocks, while Avery Fowler added 10 assists and four aces.
Sam Houston returns home for its final home series of the season, facing Western Kentucky on Friday and Saturday. Both matches will be streamed on ESPN+.
