HUNTSVILLE – The Sam Houston volleyball team fell to Western Kentucky on Friday night at Johnson Coliseum.
The Bearkats (13-13, 8-7 CUSA) dropped the match 3-0, with set scores of 22-25, 20-25 and 18-25. Western Kentucky took the first set despite a late run by Sam Houston, then carried the momentum into the second, winning 25-20.
In the final set, the Hilltoppers maintained control to close out the match with a 25-18 victory.
Lylah Washington led the Bearkats with nine kills, while Lillian Hamilton added eight. Setter Avery Fowler recorded a double-double with 23 assists and 13 digs.
Sam Houston will wrap up the home portion of its schedule on Saturday against Western Kentucky at noon. The match will be broadcast on ESPN+.
