Sarntong tabbed CUSA top bowler for November

DALLAS — The Sam Houston bowling team closed the first half of the season on a high note and one of the players who had a key part of it has been honored for her efforts.

Sophomore Noey Sarntong has been named the Conference USA Co-Bowler of the Month for November. She earned the honor along with Jax State's Annalise OBryant

The Samutprakarn, Thailand native had a big day for the Bearkats to finish first in individual play with 1,079 pins for an average of 215.8 per game to lead Sam Houston to an eventual first place finish at the TRACK Kat Klash Nov. 1-3 at Emerald Bowl in Houston. She also had games of 216, 163, 205 and 237.

Sarntong was also 56th in the individual standings at the Colonial Classic to close out the first half of the season with an average of 187.8 as Sam Houston placed third.

This is the first monthly award for Sarntong who will be back in action with her teammates when the season resumes at the Northeast Classic on Jan. 17-19.
