SAN MARCOS — Sam Houston will go after its first win of the young season when the Bearkats take part in the Texas State Tournament at Bobcat Softball Stadium this weekend.
 
The Kats (0-2) will face Texas State on Thursday at 5 p.m. with the game set to stream live online on ESPN+. Sam Houston will then face Texas Tech on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
 
Saturday's action will feature two games against Northern Colorado. Game one is scheduled for 4:45 p.m. with game two to follow.
 
The Bearkats will close the tournament on Sunday with a matchup against Tulsa at noon.
 
Sam Houston is coming off a pair of losses to UNLV and Wichita State at the Bearkat Classic this past weekend. The Kats lost to the Shockers 7-3 in extra innings and 10-1 in six innings to the Rebels.
