Kats added defender from Utah

HUNTSVILLE — Sam Houston soccer coach Sonia Curvelo is pleased to announce the addition of a high school defender to the 2024 signing class.

Ruth Larsen from Ogden, Utah will be joining the Bearkats for the upcoming season. She earned all-state and all-area honors in 2023 at Ogden High School where she was part of a team two Class 3A state championships in 2021 and 2023.

"We look forward to having Ruth with us," Curvelo said. "She adds strength to our backline and can play more than one position which is important for our program."

Larsen played club for Utah Avalanche 05/06 ECNL. She is a two-time academic all-state selection and has a 4.0 GPA.
