COLLEGE STATION - Sam Houston's men's track and field team notched seven top-five finishes at the 44 Farms Invitational over the weekend hosted by Texas A&M at E.B. Cushing Stadium.
Hendrick Hundl led the way for the men's team on the track with a 13.91 second run at the 110-meter hurdles event. That time which was good enough to tab Hundl the silver medal at the event. The Bearkats would also finish third at the 4x400 meter relay event with a time of 3:14.20 and fifth in the 4x100 meter relay with a 41.00 second run.
Moving to the field events, Rylan Olguin secured a top-five placement with a 5.16 meter pole vault. Jeremiah Jackson notched a top-five finish at the high jump with a 1.95 meter jump. Dominykas Cepys also tabbed a top-five placement with a 16.36 meter shot put, and Luke Thielemann secured fourth at the men's hammer throw with a 59.42 meter throw.
For the women's team, Charlee Salinas led the way for the Kats in the field events. She notched two top-five finishes in both women's shot put and hammer throw. A 14.69 meter throw in the shot put would be good enough for a fourth place finish and a 49.84 meter hammer throw would be good enough for fifth place.
Sam Houston will travel to Fletcher Garner Track at Homer Bryce Stadium in Nacogdoches for the Carl Kite Invitational from April 11 - April 13.
