Grill earns CUSA academic honor

DALLAS — Sam Houston senior Ellie Grill has been recognized by Conference USA for her work inside the classroom.
The centerfielder from Katy was named to the All-Academic squad after posting a perfect 4.0 GPA as an education major.Â
Grill has been solid at the plate and defensively the Bearkats this season. She leads the team with a .323 batting average while playing all 48 games this season.
She has 51 hits on the year including nine doubles, which is tied for second on the team, and three home runs. Grill also had a triple and 19 RBI while hitting at the top of the order for Sam Houston.
Grill has been an elite defender during her time in the orange and white. She boasts a 1.000 fielding percentage with 74 putouts.
