Bearkats add SFA transfer for 2024

HUNTSVILLE — Head coach Sonia Curvelo is pleased to announce the addition of a standout transfer from Stephen F. Austin for the upcoming season.

Gabrielle Gipson, a 5-10 sophomore defender from Colleyville, recently signed with the Bearkats. She played as a true freshman at SFA last season, appearing in 15 games.

"We are excited about the addition of Gabrielle," Curvelo said. "She will strengthen our central midfield position. She has played a lot of minutes as a freshman, and we look forward to having her experience in the central part of the field to win balls and distribute. She is eager to get started and contribute to the program right away. We look forward to having her."

Gipson took five shots in 1,010 minutes of action last year for the Lumberjacks.

At Colleyville Heritage High School, she was a four-time all-district selection, two-time Defensive Player of the Year and four-year Utility Player of the Year. Gipson was academic all-state three times and played club for Dallas Texans ECNL.
