Kats fall to Liberty in regular season finale

LYNCHBURG, Vir. – Sam Houston dropped its last match of the regular season 2-0 on the road at Liberty on Sunday afternoon.

The Bearkat (8-5-2, 5-2-1) had only two shots on goal with nine shots total. Gabrielle Gipson and Cadence Sanders took the shots but weren't able to hit the back of the net.

Liberty maintained possession of the ball the majority of the game totaling 25 shots with 11 on goal. Katie Bahn had 9 saves on the day but couldn't stop the relentless offensive attack by the Flames, who from scored two goals in the 42nd and 56th minutes.

The Bearkats head back to Lynchburg, Virginia to take part in the Conference USA Championship tournament on Nov. 2-6. Sam Houston will be in the third seed, its highest finish in three seasons competing in CUSA.
