HUNTSVILLE — The Sam Houston Bearkat men's basketball program is pleased to announce the addition of forward Xavier Roberson to its recruiting class for 2026.
The 6-7 Dallas product comes to Sam Houston after a standout tenure at Dynamic Prep, a national top 10 program in Texas where he established himself as a versatile wing capable of playing both inside and on the perimeter. Roberson played spring and summer ball on the EYBL Nike circuit with Drive Nation out of Dallas.
"We are thrilled to welcome Xavier into our Bearkat family," head coach Chris Mudge said. "He's a long, athletic wing who brings real two-way potential and an outstanding work ethic. Xavier's ability to stretch the floor, defend multiple positions and compete at a high level will make an immediate impact on our program."
Roberson chose Sam Houston over other offers and interest, citing the program's vision, the coaching staff's commitment to player development and the opportunity to help build something special in Huntsville. His skill set aligns well with the Bearkats' emphasis on toughness, versatility and hard-nosed defense.
With Roberson's commitment, the Bearkats add another dimension to their roster: a wing who can defend bigger forwards, attack the rim, knock down jumpers and make the hustle plays that don't always show up in the box score.
"We believe Xavier has a huge upside," assistant coach Anthony Fobb said. "His motor is elite. He plays the right way. He's going to fit perfectly into our culture."
