HUNTSVILLE — Sam Houston went toe to toe with the Delaware Blue Hens, pushing them to five sets, before suffering a hard-fought setback at the Bob Carpenter Center Friday night.
The Bearkats (10-18, 2-13 CUSA) traded sets with the Blue Hens (8-16, 5-10 CUSA) and pulled ahead in the third 25-22. Sam Houston led the fourth but were forced to a deuce, eventually falling 26-24.
The fifth set came down to the wire as the Kats rallied back only to fall short with a final score of 15-13.
Freshman Chloe Monson led the match in kills with 29 for a new season high. Avery Fowler also led the match in assists with 54, a career best. Shaelin White defended the back line for the Kats with 23 digs.
Sam Houston will wrap up the 2025 season at Bob Carpenter Center on Saturday at 12 p.m.
