FORT WORTH — The Sam Houston bowling team finished in ninth place following bracket play on the final day of the Bulldog Classic on Sunday.
The Bearkats dropped their opening match to host Louisiana Tech 4-0 to move to a matchup with Tulane. Sam Houston fell 4-2 then bounced back to close the tournament with a 4-0 victory over Oklahoma Christian.
"This weekend didn't go the way we hoped and beyond disappointing," head coach
Brad Hagen said. "The results don't reflect the heart, talent, and raw potential we know this team has. We've some high's already but we need to do a better job controlling the emotions and the lows, so they don't turn into catastrophic mistakes like the last 48 hours. We need to get back to the lab and get back to the process of taking care of business no matter the occasion. We had an excellent pre-season, and we need to fall back to the things that work and do them at the highest level.
"Every setback is a setup for a comeback — and we're not defined by one tournament, but by how we respond, grow, and push forward together."
Sam Houston will return to action to take part in the Tulane Invitational on Nov. 21-23 at Colonial Lanes in New Orleans.
