HUMBLE, Texas – The Sam Houston men's golf team will travel south for the 2025 All-American Intercollegiate, beginning Monday, March 17 at the Golf Club of Houston.
The event, hosted by Rice and Houston, will consist of 54 holes with 36 holes on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday.
The par-72, 7,425-yard Golf Club of Houston has hosted the tournament since its inception in 2016. The tournament course was created to host the Shell Houston Open and cuts through a natural forest framed by trees, bunkers, and water. The Bearkats have played the event each year since 2016, placing in the top each of the last five seasons, taking the title in back-to-back years in 2019 and 2020.
Last year, the Bearkats finished second shooting nine shots over par. Bret Gray led the team at –5, firing off 69-72-70 before finishing second after falling in a playoff.
He will be looking to lead the team again alongside teammate Hugo Trommotter, who led the Bearkats in the Louisiana Classics. The Kats finished fifth with +7 behind three top ranked teams. Trommotter tied for 10th with three under and a scorecard of 72-71-68.
Live scoring will be via Scoreboard by Clippd with updating scores throughout the round as well as the results at the end of each day. Results will also be available on the Rice Athletics website at RiceOwls.com at the end of the day.
