HARAHAN, La. – Sam Houston's remarkable run in the CUSA Bowling Championship came to an end on Saturday.
Match15 was a back-and forth battle for the traditional and Baker's point, however, JSU defeated No. 7 Sam Houston in both games on Saturday morning, bumping the Bearkats into the contender's bracket. In the first contender's bracket match-up, No. 4 Wichita State also won both games over No. 5 Arkansas State, eliminating the Red Wolves from tournament contention.
Saturday afternoon, Wichita State faced off against Sam Houston in Match 17. The Shockers took the first point in traditional games. Sam Houston took the next point in Baker's play, sending both teams to a best-of-seven round.
The Bearkats and Shockers went back-and-forth, both teams making it to 3-3. With one game left, WSU took the fourth point, eliminating SHSU from a spot in the championship.
