JACKSONVILLE, Ala. – Sam Houston could not avoid a series sweep, falling 3-1 to Jacksonville State on Sunday at Jana McGinnis Field.
The Bearkats (25-26, 12-12 CUSA) loaded the bases in the top of the seventh but were unable to push across a run to extend the game.
Bella Perez went 3-for-4 at the plate and scored Sam Houston's only run. Haleigh Carter drove her in with an RBI double over the left fielder's glove.
Starter Kendall Daniel (7-8) pitched 3 2/3 innings, allowing three runs on seven hits.
Sam Houston will host Louisiana Tech next weekend with a spot in the Conference USA Tournament on the line. All games will be streamed on ESPN+.
