HUNTSVILLE – The Texas A&M Aggies scored in five consecutive innings to hand the Sam Houston Bearkats a 14-1 loss in seven innings on Tuesday night at Don Sanders Stadium.
Sam Houston (8-25) led early on a solo home run from Brady Christensen in the bottom of the first inning, but the Aggies (17-15) struck for two runs in the third and broke it open with five runs in the fourth on their way to their second straight midweek run-rule win.
Cam Diaz went 3.0 innings with a pair of strikeouts, but took the loss to fall to 0-2 on the year. He was one of six Kats to take time on the mound.
Aggie reliever Caden McCoy got the win with an inning of relief of starter Gavin Lyons, picking up two of the 12 punchouts for the A&M staff.
The Kats finished with just four hits in the game with Jace Martinez, Ty Marthiljohni and Sam Lee each adding a single to Christensen's second blast in as many games.
