HUNTSVILLE – The Sam Houston baseball team saw its 2025 season come to a close on Saturday afternoon with a 10-5 loss to FIU at Don Sanders Stadium.
The Panthers (30-25, 13-13 CUSA) scored three times in the first inning and never trailed, leading by as much as seven runs before the Kats (12-43, 6-21 CUSA) put three on the board in the final frame.
Hunter Autrey closed out his Bearkat career with his second straight 3-for-5 day, while Ryan Franden had three hits as well. But despite having traffic on the bases throughout the day, the Kats ultimately stranded 17 base runners in the game.
Ryan Peterson too the loss after allowing six runs in 4.0 innings, while Bryce Turner earned the win for the Panthers.
