Soccer to open season at SFA

HUNTSVILLE — The Sam Houston soccer squad will begin the 2025 season by introducing new head coach Kendall Ayers to one of Texas' fiercest rivalries.
The Bearkats head to Nacogdoches to face SFA in the season opener on Aug. 14. Sam Houston will then travel north to Denton on Aug. 17 to face North Texas before Houston comes to Pritchett Field for the first home match of 2025 on Aug. 21.
Former Southland Conference foes Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and Lamar are in Huntsville on Aug. 28 and Aug. 21 before a four-match road trip with stops at Grand Canyon (Sept. 5), SMU (Sept. 7), McNeese (Sept. 11) and the CUSA opener at NM State on Sept. 20.
The Bearkats will host Louisiana Tech on Sept. 28, Middle Tennessee on Oct. 2, Western Kentucky on Oct. 5 and UTEP in the home finale on Oct. 11. Sam Houston closes the regular season on the road at FIU on Oct. 16, Missouri State on Oct. 19 and Liberty on Oct. 26.
The CUSA Championships will be held Nov. 2-7 in Lynchburg, Virginia.
