Kats face road heavy non-con schedule

HUNTSVILLE — Sam Houston will welcome an unfamiliar face to Johnson Coliseum this season when nonconference action gets underway in November.

The highlight of the home portion is a clash with Wyoming when the Cowboys come to Huntsville for the first time on Nov. 19. That is two weeks after the Bearkats open the season at home against LeTourneau on Nov. 3.

Sam Houston then has two Power 4 road matchups with Texas Tech on Nov. 7 and another trip to Salt Lake City to face Utah. The Kats upset the Utes 65-55 the last time the two met on the court in 2022.

Following the Wyoming game, Sam Houston will once again host Schreiner on Nov. 22 then the Kats head to Idaho for the Holiday Hoops Classic. There they will face Idaho State on Nov. 26 and Idaho on Nov. 28.

December begins with three straight road games before the conference opener at NM State on Dec. 21. Sam Houston will play at Oklahoma State on Dec. 2, stay closer to home to go up against Texas Southern on Dec. 6 then it's a trip out West to play Oregon State on Dec. 17.

The final nonconference game of the season will be at home when the Bearkats play the College of Biblical Studies on Dec. 28.
