CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Sam Houston men's golf team will tee off the 2025-2026 season at the Bearcat Invitational, beginning Monday, September 15 at Coldstream Country Club.
The event, hosted by Cincinnati, will consist of 54 holes with 36 holes on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday.
This tournament has been played on the par-71, 7,279-yard course since 2012. The course features rolling terrain, sand, and scenic water hazards. This will mark the fourth straight season the Bearkats have taken part in the event with their best finish being a 7th-place ending in 2022.
The tournament consists of 18 teams including Furman, Maryland, Little Rock, UCF, USF, Kentucky, Ohio State, Augusta, Nebraska, Arkansas, Louisville, Iowa State, Memphis, UNCG, TCU, Kansas, and the host Cincinnati. Louisville took the tournament last year and is ranked 28th at the start of the season. The Kats enter 2025 ranked No. 65.
Last year, the Bearkats finished 12th in the event, shooting 20 over par.
Alex Malanga is the only returning Kat to to have played in last year's event. He shot 11 over and tied for 76th last season. Other returners

Live scoring will be via Scoreboard by Clippd with updating scores throughout the round as well as the results at the end of each day.
Play will begin at 8 a.m. CT, with final round on Tuesday being paired by score.
