COLLEGE STATION — The Sam Houston men's cross country team placed 10th and the women were 11th at the Texas A&M Invitational on Saturday.
The men finished with 268 points behind Texas A&M, UV San Diego, TCU, Houston, UT-Arlington, Dallas Baptist, UT-Tyler, North Texas and Ouachita Baptist. The women had 277 points to place behind the Aggies, SMU, UC San Diego, Houston, UT-Arlington, TCU, UT-Tyler, Dallas Baptist, Ouachita Baptist and St. Edward's.
Mario Ruiz was the top finisher, placing 10th with a time of 24:07.8 on the 8K course. Freshman
Sophia Phillip led the women with a 42nd-place showing with a time of 18:39.3.
