LAS CRUCES, N.M. — The Sam Houston soccer squad will open Conference USA play this weekend when the team travels to NM State to face the Aggies.
 
The Bearkats (3-3-1) are wrapping up a four-match road swing which saw Sam Houston go 2-1 through the first three. The Kats knocked off Grand Canyon 1-0 and is coming off a 3-1 victory over McNeese in Lake Charles, Louisiana on Sept. 11.
 
Sam Houston went 5-4 in CUSA action last season, finishing fourth overall. The Aggies (1-9) have lost eight matches in a row and are coming off a 2-1 loss to Long Beach State on Sept. 14.
 
The Bearkats are 2-2-1all time against NM State with the last meeting resulting in a 3-2 victory for Sam Houston in Huntsville last season. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. and will be streamed on ESPN+.
