Sanders earns CUSA weekly honor

DALLAS — Sam Houston junior Cadence Sanders has been named the Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week after helping the Bearkats shutout Louisiana Tech over the weekend.
Sanders and her teammates held the Bulldogs scoreless in a 1-0 victory Sunday in their only match of the week to remain undefeated in league play at 1-0-1. The Kats allowed seven total shots, only two of which were on goal.
Sanders also added to the offensive attack. She took a pair of shots, one on goal, while playing all 90 minutes.
