Kats finish day one at Big Red Invite

LINCOLN, Neb. — Sam Houston picked up four wins on day one at the Big Red Invite Friday but are near the bottom of the total pins leaders.
The Bearkats went 4-1 and are currently in ninth with 4,844 total pins. Jax State leads the 12-team field with 5,506 total pins followed by Wichita State, Maryville, Vanderbilt, Nebraska, McKendree, Louisiana Tech and Arkansas State.
"Friday's have been treating us well, so we need to find a way to survive the gauntlet tomorrow and overcome our Saturday chaos," head coach Brad Hagen said. "The second half of the season, Saturday's have been better but no where as good as they need to be. We have some great demanding competition this weekend, so this weekend and Saturday will be a true test to see where we are for post season. We need to win some of the coin tosses on Saturday and build some momentum."
