KATS LOOK TO SNAP TWO GAME SKID
-Sam Houston dropped their second straight road game Tuesday night, falling 60-55 to the Missouri State Bears at Great Southern Bank Arena.
- The Kats remain the only team to defeat Louisiana Tech this season and currently sit tied for fourth place in Conference USA with Missouri State with just three games remaining in conference play
-Â Bearkats lead CUSA and rank fifth in the nation with 25.8 turnovers forced per game. The Kats has forced 20+ turn- overs in 24 out of the 26 games this season, with Rice and Jax State being the lone exception
- Sam Houston leads CUSA and ranks 44th in the nation in scoring defense, holding opponents to just 58.3 ppg
- Fanta Kone has 114 assists on the year and needs 1 more steal to get to 90. No Bearkat has had consecutive seasons of 100+ assists since Britni Martin (2011-12, 2012-13) and no Kat has had 90+ steals in consecutive seasons since LaKeita Richardson (1993-94, 1994-95)
- Kone scored 12 points against the Bears, marking her sixth straight double-figure scoring performance. Annika Corcoran and Nyla Inmon added 11 points apiece, while Inmon recorded her sixth consecutive double-digit scoring game
- Kone now ranks ninth in program history in career steals with 180, surpassing Amber Leggett (177 steals, 2018-21), Ray Alexander (173 steals, 2005-10) Khamra Echols (170 steals, 2008–12)
- The Kats are averaging 13.7 steals per game, ranking eighth nationally and leading CUSA. That pace puts them on track to record the fourth-most steals in a single season in Bearkat history.
SERIES HISTORY
- Last season, the Bearkats earned their first ever victory over the Lady Techsters in the series between the two programs.
